My name is Gordy and I live in Oxford,UK.I have been using Atari computers since the early 80's when I started using an Atari 65XE.I mostly played games on this system but soon got bored with that and started to learn how to program. In 1985 I changed my computer to an Atari STFM used until 1989 when I brought an Atari STE.
My present system is still my old faithful STE running under MagiC operating system, which is a multitasking system.
My main use for my STE is for use on the Internet, games playing and programming.I also like helping others out with problems concerning setting up and using MagiC or any other computer related problems.
Yes folks its update time again!! The past week I have been testing a few small programs out to make life easier for us Atari users to use the Internet. You know what its like you click on CAB.APP and then Newsie and so on.Would it be far easier to have all your Internet clients loading in all at the same time? Yes,I would hear you say.Well there is such a program which can be called via STinG and once called this little program calls up all the internet clients you want loading.Configuration is easy.Just a simple text file and all set up a away you go.
What is this program called? I hear you say.Well the program is called SPAWNER.Basically it a program launcher. You will need a multitasking OS,like MagiC,to take advantage of this.I use it to call up Newsie as you can set up Newsie to connect up to the news server on start up.Makes life alot easier...
"Do you want to try out SPAWNER?" | "Download it from here..." | "SPAWNER" |
SPAWNER was written by Gary Priest of Popwatch,Costa and many others.I have tried most of his software and have not found one that has let me down yet.
Gary Priest is also on the Web.He has a whole host of Internet related software go and check it out.If you want to visit his site, goto my links page and click on his link there.
Now I have a faster modem I will be able to put some more software on the download bay for users to download.
Does anyone out there want a local Atari newsgroup on Freeserve? Mail them and tell them about it..
Click here to E-mail FreeserveI did create a mailing list for Atari users where users can join in with the threads are going on at the time.
1.This mailing list is open to everyone who uses or has used an Atari ST,Falcon or any of its clones.
2.Mailing lists and newsgroups work best when they are kept on topic.
3.Users are encouraged to discuss anything to do with the Atari Range of Computers whether running under MagiC,MiNT or just plain TOS.Users can talk about any software or hardware as long as it is used on an Atari computer, emulator or one of the clones like the HADES.
4.No spams are allowed in this Mailing list.
